Pazi’s Pallas
I’m Pazi (the human), a photographer, storyteller, and devoted manul enthusiast. For years, I’ve traveled the world to document manuls in breeding programs, capturing their quirks through photos and videos, learning their stories, and sharing them with fellow manul lovers. This newsletter is an extension of that passion. Every Manul Monday, I’ll bring you fresh stories — profiles on individual manuls, interviews with conservationists and zookeepers, deep dives into manul behavior, and the latest updates on conservation efforts.
Proceeds from this work will go directly to creating more high-quality manul content — better photography, deeper storytelling and more behind-the-scenes insights. But more importantly, 40% will go to supporting conservation programs like Manul Working Group and Snow Leopard Trust that do fantastic work to study manuls and protect their habitat. Finally, a portion will go to Pazi (the manul at Potter Park Zoo) to help cover his care and provide additional enrichment. This isn’t just about sharing cute cat photos (though, there will be plenty of that). It’s about raising awareness, building appreciation, and ensuring these small, fierce felines get the attention they deserve.
I’m primarily a photographer and videographer, and you can find my manul adventures over on my instagram. You can also find more fascinating animal and conservation stories over at FUZZ.
